Tantric and Shamanic Sex and Temples: What You Need to Know About Sexual Energetic Safety
When sexual energy opens in a group space, something real happens. Forces move. Channels open. What you invite in matters.
We talk about physical boundaries and consent in sexual spaces. We should be equally rigorous about energetic safety.
Most people don't know what they're walking into energetically. They don't know what forces are present or what preparation looks like. The spaces they're entering usually aren't transparent about it.
This panel brings together four practitioners and teachers who have trained for years in shamanic and tantric lineages. They work with these energies daily. They understand the forces at play.
What you'll learn:
How energy actually moves in tantric practice, and why intention matters.
What shamanic and ancestral forces show up in sexual spaces, and how you prepare to meet them safely.
The connection between physical consent frameworks (like in kink) and energetic safety.
How to know if a space is being held intentionally.
What you need to understand before you walk into one of these spaces.
The speakers:
Amy Nelson is a Shamanic Therapist, Relationship Coach, and founder of Shamanic Temple, rooted in Southern African water traditions and lineage work. She created SomatoSensual Therapy, an experiential approach to sexual embodiment and pleasure as a pathway to liberation.
Amy works with shamanic wisdom to support people exploring sexual empowerment, expanded states of consciousness, and authentic relating across all relationship structures. Her approach is decolonial, non-dualist, and grounded in the understanding that sexuality is sacred, the body is wise, and pleasure is a pathway to liberation. She is a pleasure activist.
Dr Florian Kroll, shares insights and practices distilled from 35 years of embodied spirituality, meditation and scholarly inquiry. Introduced to Zen Buddhism and Taoism in 1990 through the martial arts, his approach integrates daoism, tantra, shamanism, neuroscience, critical studies, and anthropology. His philosophical reflections are rooted in decades of somatic and energetic cultivation through qigong, yoga, music, voice and dance. Flo invites seekers to explore a fiercely compassionate, ecologically intimate and shamelessly sensual approach to spirituality.
Kali (Carla Pretorius), Gogo Kian Terra Sora is a multimodality trauma healing facilitator, shamanic initiate and practitioner, and esoteric guide whose work bridges trauma healing, spirituality, sexuality, and consciousness. Drawing from over a decade of study, traditional initiatory training and practice in metaphysical, somatic, ancestral, shamanic, and spiritual approaches to transformation, her work incorporates ethnomedicine, advanced energy healing, psychic surgery, and ritual-based healing. Rooted in a lifelong exploration of religion, metaphysics, esotericism, the mystery traditions, Theosophy, and Eastern philosophies incl tantra, she is particularly interested in the relationship between sexual energy, trauma, spiritual and soul development, and the unseen dimensions of human experience. She believes Eros can serve as a powerful vehicle for expanded consciousness and spiritual development through the healing and integration of unconscious material, and is passionate about bringing awareness to the nuances of how this unfolds when engaged consciously—and unconsciously.
Dr. Sara Mo is a nurse educator and tantric facilitator. Her clinical background spans pediatrics to end-of-life care, and her training spans Western science and Eastern philosophy. As a multicultural nomad, she has spent nearly a decade traveling, training, and teaching holistic healing practices, including Tantra, Ayurveda, Yoga, Breathwork, and Shibari. She uses these practices to help people reconnect with their bodies, release pain and trauma, and feel more empowered in their lives through sensual and somatic play.
Who is this for:
Anyone coming to temple nights or conscious sexual spaces.
People interested in tantra, shamanism, or sexual healing.
Those who've had experiences in these spaces and want to understand what was happening.
Anyone curious about the intersection of spirituality, sexuality, and safety.
What to expect:
A 90-minute panel with four practitioners speaking about what they've learned. 30 minutes for questions.
No preaching. No judgement. Clarity about what's actually happening and what you need to know.
Next step:
If this lands and you want to go deeper into how to navigate these forces as a practitioner or participant, Amy is hosting a full-day workshop on Sexual Boundaries, Consent, and Energetic Safety on 25 July.
